The voluntariado is an attitude of search of social models who affirm the equal opportunity and the rupture of the mental barriers opposite to the social injustices.
The social voluntariado is not primarily a welfare activity with the alienated persons. The voluntary action has, really, a decisive welfare component in the solving of immediate problems, much more when these do not admit delay. But, especially, it is a question of an attitude opposite to the society, the search of a social model and of personal behaviors that there affirm the social justice and the search of major opportunities for all.
The voluntariado looks for the mutual collaboration, the autonomy and, finally, the happiness for those that do not have it. A volunteer can help a disabled one to avoid an architectural barrier, but his responsibility will be, joined to other thousands of volunteers, to ask the one who should correspond that they eliminate the barriers. His social mission heads towards eliminating the mental barriers opposite to the diverse forms of social exclusion.
Slightly better that being right is to try that others do it. The voluntariado is for all and there his social efficacy takes root. There will always be a place adapted for every person inside the voluntariado. The more removed to the concept of social voluntariado would be an elitist group of “the good people”. The voluntariado can offer himself anyone, with independence of moral judgments or of personal expositions of life. Hence the volunteer should give testimony about his work and reason of his hope. On the one hand, to facilitate new adherences to concrete programs but, especially, to bring over the society established to the underworlds of alienation full of myths, taboos, borders and exclusions. Every volunteer will have to look for the best way to communicate what it does, and it must not allow doing it.
